In The Midst Of A Global Pandemic

We are in a ‘global’ pandemic and it is a serious matter (whether you believe it or not); therefore, we should all take it seriously and listen to the advice given by doing what is right for the health and safety of not only for ourselves but for those around us including those we love. This pandemic has affected each of us in some way, shape, or form and we all should heed the warnings and have respect for each other.

Vaccines don’t necessarily make you invincible (especially with the long drawn out distribution of it). Family doesn’t make you invincible. This illness can even ravage through a household in a blink of an eye. Whether you get the vaccine or not, it’s going to be a long road ahead for recovery in 2021. Vaccines do help rid away the disease; however, we must continue to do our part to ensure a successful recovery path.

One day things will get better. Until then, we should not take down our walls and lower our guard down because of inconvenience or fatigue of the current situation.

Listen to the medical advice, respect each other, love each other, protect ourselves and others, wear masks, keep your distance from others ‘outside your household’, and please wash your hands.

This isn’t an event anyone had asked for to happen; however, the reality is is that it is happening. The time period of this pandemic has changed the way of life for many of us and it may not seem to be our ideal way of life. It may be hard to cope with at times and down right scary.

We may not be able to be with family or friends the way we used to. However, we do live in a technological world where we can still visit family and friends. We can connect through phone calls, virtual face to face interactions, creativity, etc.

Let’s all do what we can to keep safe and healthy and protect each other until this subsides. While it may be scary, depressing, not ideal, or inconvenient, we should all remember one thing: rely on and pray to God for love, patience, understanding, strength, courage, and wisdom.

(Rely on God for everything)

Isaiah 41:10 says “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you ...”.

(Protect yourself, your loved ones, and others)

Proverbs 22:3 says “The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, but the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.”.

(Listen and follow God’s principles of life. Value life with the upmost respect)

Ecclesiastes 7:10-12 says “Do not say, ‘Why were the former days better than these?’ For it is not out of wisdom that you ask this. Wisdom together with an inheritance is a good thing and an advantage to those who see the light of day. For wisdom is a protection just as money is a protection, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.”

Keep your chin up. Stay positive. Stay healthy and safe. Keep faith in God. Never give up. In the midst of a global pandemic, we will rise and become stronger.
